Your first few days should be spent in quality time with your new dog; playing, caring for him and most of all, loving and cuddling him. It won’t take long before your pup will begin to recognize you as his new master and companion, and he will feel more and more comfortable as his trust in you and affection for you grows. Don’t wait too long into this process to begin some basic training with your Siberian Husky pup. These dogs tend to be intelligent and opportunistic, so they need to know the boundaries and rules of the house right from the start. You can begin to enforce these rules in a positive but firm manner as you are establishing yourself as the new leader of your pup’s pack.

Visiting The Vet

Your breeder should give you medical information on your Siberian Husky puppy that will include an inoculation schedule as well as any potential medical issues that you will need to be concerned about. A visit to your own veterinarian, or the vet that the breeder has referred you to, is generally a good idea shortly after you bring your dog home. The veterinarian can give your Siberian Husky puppy a thorough check-up, continue with the inoculation schedule, and advise you on care and training of your specific dog.
