Are Siberian Huskies good around kids?
I have a 13 month old Siberian Husky. My wife and I just had our first kid together and she is now 2 months. We have done research about Huskies and them being around kids, but we want to know from people that have owned Huskies and had lil ones. Thank you.
Most sibes are very good with children. A few have dominant traits and will want to tell the child what to do. Usually the biggest danger to a small child from a husky is the dog will want to play a little too rough. Kids get knocked down, dragged in a game of tug of war. Supervision can prevent things from getting out of hand. Huskies generally do not attack people of any age.

It has nothing to do with the breed. It is about the individual dog. If you did your research about the correct way to introduce a dog to a baby, hopfully you'll be okay. It depends how you have brought your dog up though.

Siberians do not "lose their friendliness when they get old". A well-bred, socialized Siberian will be friendly throughout its life.
To be honest, some Siberians can be a little unnerved by infants. The squeak, squeal, and make noises not unlike a little prey animal. Siberians can be prey driven, and don't know what to make of a little, squirming, squealing creature. I had a 10 year old Siberian returned to me because the owners had a baby, and didn't like the way the dog reacted to her. Unfortunately, they were unwilling to do any training. I think with training and supervision (which should be a no-brainer), this sort of issue can be overcome.
Chances are, if your Siberian was going to react this way to your baby, you would have seen it by now.
Otherwise, you run into the usual things…Siberians can be boisterous, and knock over toddlers without meaning to. They get along fine with children who are *taught to have manners around dogs*. Siberians are pack-oriented, and may not accept that the child is a higher-level member of their pack (they may see them as inferior, and deserving of correction, which means nipping and growling when appropriate). It is up to the adults in the home to show/teach the Siberian that any "discipline" of the child is NOT acceptable.
Obviously, NO dog should be left unsupervised with a small child, EVER.
